Scrumpy Jack Player of the round

scrump

Round 1 Mr Sarwan, Cookham Dean CC for taking 6 wickets for 23 runs in 9 overs.

Round 2 Mr Andy Harris, Great and Little Tew CC for taking 5 wickets for 5 runs in 9 overs.

Round 3 William Tyler, 6-2-7-5, Rockhampton v Apperley, Gloucestershire group. For Rockhampton, Tyler’s devastating six-over spell of seam bowling helped dismiss Apperley for 76 as they chased an imposing 238.

Round 4 Owen Edwards, 136 (13×4, 9×6), Stockton v Old, Northants group. The Stockton captain could have won the Round 3 award for his murderous 39-ball 113 against Gretton, an innings which also included nine sixes. Remarkably though, he scored even bigger against Old in the following round, helping set up a crushing 175-run victory for his team.

Round 5 Joe Adams, 177*, Glynde & Beddingham v Findon, Sussex group. If a team scores 177 from their 40 overs, they stand a very good chance of winning. If a team’s opening batsman scores 177 not out from 117 balls, the result is almost certain. And not only did Findon have to watch Adams in terrifying form but Dominic Shepheard also chipped in with 119 in an opening partnership of 260. Findon eventually fell 190 runs short chasing 325.

Round 6 Jimmy Jones, Wolviston CC (6 overs, 6-14)

Round 7 Ben White, Marshfield, (9-2-3-6)
