During my hairlarious encounter with Michael Vaughan on Tuesday, I asked whether, given England’s apparent preference for five batsmen and Matt Prior, Jonathan Trott’s good form had put Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood under pressure.
Vaughan looked dismissive. “I don’t see much pressure on Collingwood with the way that he’s playing. I see them going with Trott at three, KP four and Collingwood at five, with Ian Bell the man to miss out unless they go with six batters.”

Every young cricketer is someone else, we all know this. The players we mimic inspire us. They cause sibling arguments: “I’m Botham.” “No, I am.” “No, you’re rubbish, you can’t be Botham. You’re David Capel.” Tears.
Now, as an adult, you can keep those dreams but without the arguments. So, along with the whole of India, today I am Virender Sehwag.
